On February 21st 2006 I (Gambler) made a solo 3 day trip to Weber City Virginia to watch my God Father's Master Mason Degree. On the way up I went to Dublin, Georgia to visit my grandfather. The trip to dublin was uneventfull but the visit was nice. I left Dublin about 4:00 PM and drove to Macon where I got on I-75 and headed north. I turned on the XM Radio to the Atlanta Traffic station and found out that there was an accident on the bypass so I went on through Atlanta on 75. I ran into a traffic jam anyway so tried going up to Peachtree street and get around the accident. That was a fiasco, lets just say that someone in Atlanta needs to update the GPS gods and tell them that they have new roads because there were roads on the GPS that were not on the ground and vice versa. I finally got out of Atlanta at about 1 AM. I drove until I started getting sleepy somewhere in Tennessee. I started looking for a rest stop and finally gave up when I hit Rice City at 4 AM. I checked into the Rice Hotel, called Twister to let her know I was off the road and hit the sack. Being from Florida I am not used to the cold up there. When I woke up in the morning it was 17° outside. I remote started the HHR while I got packed up and got back on the road in a nice warm HHR. Much to my dismay, the next turn on the Interstate was a rest area. Looking back, I would have hated to sleep in the car with it that cold so I guess it was a good thing. I pulled into Weber City at about noon. After some visiting we went to the Masonic Lodge for the Degree. We went back to my godfathers house afterwords and slept for the night.

I woke up about 6 AM the next morning. I went ahead and remote started the HHR so it would warm up while I had breakfast because it was 19° this morning. I hit the road about 6:30 and headed home. Somehow I made it through Atlanta in twenty two minutes this time. I was just going with traffic but I know at one time I was doing over 100 MPH. The return drive, unlike the drive up only took 7 hours and 50 minutes. I walked into Twisters office and surprised the heck out of her by being home so early.
